About us
The Secretariat
The Secretariat is located at kilometre 19 Lekki–Epe Expressway Lagos and is attached to the Lekki Conservation Centre, an NCF project funded by Chevron Nigeria in Lagos. It houses the administrative structure of NCF and is the nerve centre of all projects and activities of the organization. The coordination of project activities commences from here. It houses the Executive Director’s office, the Directorate of Finance and Administration, the Technical Programmes Department, the Communications Department and a functional library. In addition is an 80-seater auditorium which is used for meetings and other meeting-based activities. Other facilities include a library and room facilities for bookshop, canteen, snack bar and coffee shop. Situated on a tranquil environment which captures the essence of natural beauty, it also comprises a 78 - hectare natural forest habitat protected and preserved by NCF and supported by Chevron.
The Executive Director
The Executive Director’s office acts as the arrowhead of NCF representation. This department leads and directs the advocacy and lobbying strategies of NCF and serves as the link between the organization and international partners.
Department of Finance and Administration
This department is responsible for the financial oversight of the organization; it keeps abreast of project expenses and reports to the various donors. It also oversees the membership and fundraising unit, and ensures that membership related issues are attended to. Administratively, it performs the human resources function of the organization
Technical Programmes Department
Initiates, designs and executes all conservation and environment programmes and projects of the NCF. Made up of scientists and technical support staff from different disciplines, it is expected to have 13 permanent staff, 14 game guards and a maximum of 4 students on industrial training. It runs an internship scheme where a maximum of 6 interns are engaged based on the availability of support for allowances. It coordinates the technical activities of the regional office and all project sites and relates technically with NCF partners and collaborators. Headed by the Technical Programmes Director, this department also coordinates the educational programmes of NCF
Communications Department
Reporting to the Executive Director, this department maintains a link with the print and electronic media. It takes charge of the communications functions and coordinates publicity programmes and issues news and press releases on behalf of NCF. It also takes charge of all press and information publication of NCF and is managed by the Conservation Manager Media and Public affairs.
